September 26 - 9, 2014    Sydney , Australia
In partnership with The Conversation, Informa Australia will present The Future of Medical Research Conference to be held on the 25th and 26th of September at the Sydney Harbour Marriott, Circular Quay NSW.

One of the key components from this years proposed Federal budget is the introduction of a $20 billion medical research fund, which has been advertised by the Treasurer as the biggest medical endowment fund in the world. This fund is not without controversy however, as it will rely on a new $7 Medicare co payment which people will be required to pay every time they visit the doctor, which has led to speculation that this section of the budget might not make it through the Senate.Despite its uncertain future, The Medical Research Fund has prompted questions about the current state of Australian medical research, including what areas we need to focus on to ensure that we use our resources to their fullest potential. This conference will allow industry professionals to address questions regarding the future of medical research in Australia such as what the current focus is in the industry, how to best generate funding, what the latest innovations are, and how to commercialise the research into treatments and cures.
