2014 Overview
In February 2014 the 15th edition of Art Rotterdam took place at a new location; the Van Nellefabriek. For the first time all individual sections were united under one roof; Main Section, New Art Section and the innovative video section, Art Rotterdam Projections. A total of 114 galleries, from which 50% came from abroad, presented the best of contemporary art.
The move to the iconic Van Nellefabriek has exceeded all expectations. With 21.500 visitors - an increase of 35% compared to 2013- we achieved a record number of visitors. Never before so many international visitors came to Rotterdam to discover young art. Raving reviews were published by [inter]national press, among others Le Monde and The Art Newspaper. The edition of Art Rotterdam 2015 already promises excitement. In and around the Van Nellefabriek various pop-up shows, artist presentations and exhibitions will be organized by among others the Mondriaan Fund and We Like Art. Furthermore in 2015 we celebrate the twentieth year of the Cultural Treaty Vlaanderen-Nederland. Special Flemish presentations and artist initiatives will be held.
