Composite Structures – Introduction and Application (1.2 CEUs) 2015
conferences > Education, Training conferences > Composite Structures – Introduction and Application (1.2 CEUs)
June 10 - 11, 2015
Ottawa , Canada
This two-day course will cover the essential concept and practices of composite materials focusing on application to industry.
Objective:
The course objective is to provide participants with a basic knowledge of general principles and theories with the area of structures made of composites. This course will focus on the practical application of composites in the areas of processing and aerospace engineering. The course will benefit those with no previous formal introduction to the science of composites: no prior knowledge or experience is assumed. All topics will be introduced from first principles and the emphasis will be on developing an understanding of concepts as well as the application of composite materials in different industries with a focus on the oil industry. The course will include lectures as well as problem exercises.
Who Should Attend:
People from industry, engineers, technicians, technologists, and anybody who is interested in knowing about composites. Anyone who is interested in the application of composite materials for the development of efficient lightweight structural designs. The course would be suitable for undergraduate students, new engineers and designers in the field of composite wishing to gain a sound knowledge base of mechanics of composite materials.
Course Outcomes:
- Build an understanding of composites.
- Demonstrate the capabilities of composites.
- Select appropriate composite structure for a particular application.
- Recognize the importance of composite in industrial application.
Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
