Description: Summer BCMFest will kick off at 1 p.m. with an afternoon of sessions led by outstanding Boston area Celtic musicians, open to any and all participants who want to bring along an instrument, contribute a song, or dance along to the music. Admission is free, and lunch will be served from the recently opened Club Passim kitchen.

The evening concert, which runs from 7-9 p.m. (leaving plenty of time afterwards to go see fireworks), will spotlight the diversity of sounds found in Boston’s Celtic music community:
Flynn Cohen is one of the most accomplished and in-demand guitarists to emerge from the Boston folk and acoustic music scene. Equally adept at playing melody and rhythm, Flynn has continually explored the many connections between the music traditions of Ireland, the British Isles and America. In addition to his own band, Low Lily (formerly known as Annalivia), he’s worked with a host of prominent musicians, including Aoife Clancy, Cathie Ryan, Lawrence Nugent, Skip Healy, Joe Derrane and Frank Ferrel, John McGann, Matt Glaser, Tony Watt & Southeast Expressway, Adrienne Young, Jake & Taylor Armerding, Lissa Schneckenburger, Laura Cortese and Mark Simos, among many others.

Joey Abarta, Danny Noveck and Lindsay Straw - Joey Abarta is widely recognized as a master on that iconic Irish instrument, the uilleann pipes, and he’s spent the better part of the last decade touring as a performer and teacher in North America, Europe and Asia
