Ancold Conference 2016

The conference theme for 2016 is Dams – a Lasting Legacy. Australia has great examples of legacy dam projects for example the Snowy Mountain Scheme that has served their customers well. The theme is also relevant because we are living in a time where there are significant budget pressures on water utilities and governments. This can lead to a short term approach to water supply planning. Investing in dams and their maintenance needs a longer term focus. The conference will be a great place to explore the contemporary challenges faced with planning new dams and dam upgrades, design, construction, risk assessment, operation and maintenance.
