The 14th Annual Congress of the German Society for Wound Healing and Wound Care Association will take place in the Lower Saxony capital of Hanover. Once again, the Annual Conference is under the central theme of the guidelines and quality standards in wound healing and wound treatment. A particular focus of the event, however, biotechnology will give its own weight.
The rapid scientific advances in tissue engineering and pharmacological modulation of wound healing open up new and promising perspectives. Not only is it always possible to close larger defects faster, but also to influence the healing itself. My particular concern is to promote the trans-professional exchange and in particular scientists and industry together on the future of scientific research in the field is to be discussing the treatment of wounds. The only way to bring valuable innovations to the patient. Without the establishment of quality standards and evidence-based scientific evaluation of the effectiveness of new methods, a jointly funded wound treatment at a high level will no longer be realized.
The Medical School and numerous Leibniz-Institut Hannover has gained an international reputation as a medical science and research. Recently, here in the framework of the excellence of the federal and state grants the Excellence Cluster REBIRTH (Regenerative Biology to Reconstructive Therapy) as a center for outstanding regeneration research.
