Despite the large volume of information available to assist with the interpretation of IASB standards, there is relatively little guidance tailored to the needs of the Oil and Gas industry. The structure and focus of this course is to provide such specific guidance.

In particular, this course will demonstrate and illustrate both how the IASB's standards apply to the unique accounting issues in the Oil and Gas sector, together with those controversial areas with little or no guidance from the IASB.

Who Will Attend

The course is designed for a range of participants but primarily for accountants and those engaged in the accounting and financial reporting departments of oil and gas organisations.

Given the highly interactive, practical and discussion based design of the course, it is equally suitable to those with a very limited exposure to IASB standards, to those who have utilized or implemented IASB standards but need a more solid and thorough understanding of the technical aspects of these accounting rules. Due to technical nature of the course, it does assume a fairly thorough understanding of accounting principles, terminology and practices.
