What are the prospects for Russian steam coal market?
There was a spot price decrease observed on the Russian domestic steam coal market during 2012. Despite the increased volume of export shipments, low level of world prices has significantly affected the fuel competitiveness from Russian suppliers. Thus, many companies were forced to shift to more stable domestic consumption. That said, considering a stable domestic market capacity, oversupply was observed in 2012.
