OPTICAL FAIR POZNAN 2010

The audience had an opportunity to see the latest eyeglass frames and lenses, contact lenses, components and accessories, as well as optician's practice and office equipment.
Another very attractive aspect of the Fair was the Optyka 2008 Conference, which gathered over 300 participants. Talks with subject covering research in such fields as eye refraction and eye refraction measuring, the physics of seeing, optical materials, new diagnostic tools, and screen tests, were given by representatives of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the Warsaw University, the Wrocław University of Technology, and the Poznań University of Medical Sciences.

The opening lecture was given by Professor Ryszard Naskręcki, PhD, who also provided the scientific patronage of the Conference. In his talk, Professor Naskręcki surveyed issues in the academic education of opticians and optometrists with regard to the European (and Polish) certification system as the source of a global, transparent guarantee of competence, which ensures that the certification will be internationally respected.
