Ambient Intelligence is a concept envisioning information society in the future. In AmI the attention is focused on four major aspects which are the user friendliness, effectiveness, distributed support and interactivity. AmI is based on the utmost integration of information and communication technologies to the environment so that from the point of view of a user it is absolutely non-essential with what technologies he is interacting; with how many applications he is in contact; how the applications are related and how the applications cooperate. The concept of Ambient Intelligence is in many features similar to the older concepts known as ubiquitous computing, pervasive computing, proactive computing or the area of intelligent environments. In fact, it is highly attractive and sensible to study all these concepts in a close relation extracting thus the best from them. The Ambient Intelligence Forum, already the 3rd in a series of these conferences, intends to be the right place to discuss all the inter-conceptual, inter-disciplinary, but also trans-disciplinary aspects of all the areas that could contribute to the helping technologies of the future.
