York University academics bring their latest research to local pubs as part of Pint of Science, the world's largest festival of public science lectures.

York University scientists will take to the stage in pubs across the city as part of a unique line up of science talks, demonstrations and live experiments running across three days in May.

Pint of Science aims to create a more personal relationship between scientists and the public.and give the public a chance to pick the brains of some of UK's most brilliant academics away from a stuffy laboratory or lecture theatre. Rather than a formal lecture, a Pint of Science evening aims to create a debate, inviting the audience to ask questions and encouraging the scientists to sit down and share a beer together afterwards.

Artists / Speakers: Brian Fulton (Dean of the Faculty of Science), Georges Meynet (Geneva Observatory), Matt Collins (Fellow of the British Academy), Ed Corrigan (Fellow of the Royal Society, Head of Mathematics), Francis O'Gorman (former Head of English, Leeds; prolific author), Karl Atkin (Head of Health Sciences), Tom McLeish (Fellow of the Royal Society, Vice-president of the Institute of Physics).
