The City of Phnom Penh will host Cambodia's 1st International Building and Construction Industry Show at the new Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Center.
The construction sector is the fastest growing sector of the Cambodian economy. Investments in construction projects in Cambodia increased 38 percent in the first nine months of 2008, compared to the same period last year, said Lao Tip Seiha, director of the Construction Department in the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction. While the real estate sector is expected to experience some slowdown in 2009, other sources of demand from tourism and infrastructure projects will provide impetus for the continued growth in the construction sector.
