Economically Justifying Distribution Automation Alongside Field Implementation Case Studies For A Cost-Effective, Reliable Distribution System

With Distribution Automation rising to prominence as one of the top investment priorities for electric utilities’ Smart Grid deployment plans, it has become necessary to pinpoint the actual benefits and long term value of installing an automated distribution system. As it becomes more important for the grid to modernize and efficiently manage both new loads, and a new influx of generation sources such as solar and other renewable energies, utilities have difficult choices to make in terms of how best to optimize their grids for maximum profitability and reliability. To make these choices, utilities will have to establish the business case for Distribution Automation, weighing up reliability and efficiency benefits to be had against the cost of investing in expensive grid upgrades, as well as selecting optimal schemes and technologies for the most cost-effective installation of Distribution Automation.

Distribution Automation 2011 will be the first event to dedicate two days exclusively to Distribution Automation alone, bringing together utilities and regulators from across the country to discuss practical and innovative solutions for establishing optimal investment and management strategy for a cost effective, intelligent grid.

The event will feature leading industry figureheads from:

* Electric Utilities from different states up and down America
* Regulators including government associations working with industry standards
* Infrastructure providers, including suppliers of devices, software and communications technologies
