People in Energy Summit 2012

The 2012 People in Energy Summit will feature two insightful and practitioner led tracks to address the main talent issues facing the industry in today’s global economy: recruitment and retention of a skilled and knowledgeable workforce that is able to lead and sustain operational growth. And because we understand that the brain drain, and the arrival of a new generation of industry workers pose a specific set of operational challenges, this year we will explore the incidence of human factors in health, safety and environmental performance during our full day HSE program.

Talent & Human Capital Management Track

A confluence of events, including rising oil prices, and changing industry demographics, has stretched industry resources to the breaking point. From rig workers to petroleum engineers, there’s more work to be done than there are workers to perform it. Companies are now scrambling to fill critical positions, with many paying inflated salaries to lure highly skilled employees away from rival firms, and implementing short-term solutions such as delaying retirement and rehiring retired employees.
