The village of Elton is about 5 minutes drive from the junction of the A1 and the A605 (from the A1 head away from Peterborough towards Oundle on the A605).
The fair is held in the village hall, which is on the principal street running through the village and is well signposted. There is a car park behind the hall and no restrictions on parking on the road.
Missing Book Fairs has been established since 1994 and in that time have organized over 450 events. The name was derived from the organizer’s – Chris Missing. It seemed fitting, as you are quite likely to find some of the books you are ‘missing’ when you come to one of the fairs!
Currently operating at five venues, you will generally find between 15 and 26 dealers exhibiting in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.
A book fair is a gathering together in one place of a number of booksellers. Each stall will be run by a different dealer, some of whom may specialize in one field, e.g. first edition fiction or aviation, others may bring a general selection of subjects. Thus the customer gets to view a wide range of books without having to go from bookshop to bookshop.
