AFR National Infrastructure Summit 2015

The second event in the AFR National Policy Series, the National Infrastructure Summit, sets out to investigate the policy challenges of meeting Australia's social and economic infrastructure needs today and in the future.

We are collaborating with Infrastructure Partnerships Australia to create what we hope will be a game-changing examination of our nation's infrastructure policy. Eschewing the siloed approach that has often characterised the debate in the past, this event will unite government, business, industry and the wider community in an integrated, holistic discussion of what we need from our infrastructure - and how we can deliver it efficiently, sustainably, and with maximum value for public money.

Key themes will include:

Anticipating the infrastructure needs of the future
Political risk and the practicalities of delivering on long-term strategic plans
Selling asset-recycling to the public / getting community consultation right
Towards a more sophisticated toolkit for impact assessment and project selection
Optimising road pricing and other infrastructure funding mechanisms
Challenges in procuring and delivering new infrastructure
