Shaoxing County is a famous textile base county in China. As early as in the era of Gou Jian (the King of Yue), silk industry was very popular across the city. In Sui and Tang Dynasties, Shaoxing 揧ueluo� swept the world and enjoyed reputation of 搒unshine silk� in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Since the adoption of reform and opening policies, Shaoxing County has strengthened this traditional advantage and developed textile industry energetically. After the development of over 20 years, nowadays, textile industry has become a pillar industry of Shaoxing County. The whole county has more than 7,000 textile enterprises, more than 42,000 shuttleless looms and two hundred thousand employees. In 2007, about 1.74 million tons of various kinds of synthetic fiber, 5.6 billion meters of chemical fiber, 14 billion meters of fabric and 222 million pieces of garments were produced here which achieved an annual textile output value of RMB113.9 billion Yuan, an annual sales income RMB111.5 billion Yuan, an annual textile export of USD4.9 billion. It has basically formed integrated industry chain from PTA to weaving, home textile and garment which has huge productivity and an obvious advantage of industrial group and it is the biggest textile industry hub in China.
