The special significance of the Cold market for the whole of Upper Hesse lies in the fact that from the perspective of the people of earlier centuries was the time for elected ideal, cereals, fruit and wine were harvested, grown young cattle so far that it could be sold. The market could therefore be well fed in every respect. Conversely, all the supplies for the long winter, and the material for the home often performed works could now be bought because now most likely, the money was there for it. In the higher villages the way to frost and Schneeinbruch were too difficult to navigate. The end of October, however, the weather was still to linger outdoors.
